Aspirations beyond expectations

Holmleigh is a residential home for young people who have learning difficulties and who may display a combination of emotional difficulties, associated challenging behaviours and as well as additional educational needs. The purpose of Holmleigh is to provide a home that meets the needs of up to three young people of mixed gender, from 8 up to 18 years of age. The home is situated in the countryside about ten miles from Leicester, it is a large, homely, double story detached house the middle of well-stocked grounds in excess of half an acre. 

The home’s underlying vision and ethos is, for high quality care, and success for all our young people in line with the motto, ‘Aspirations beyond expectations’. 

The culture will be one embracing a model of therapeutic parenting, which is at the core of our working practice. This is based on working to the PACE model understanding the importance of Play, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy. 

We seek to achieve aspirations by using nurture to create an ideal environment to empower each young child to thrive and maximise potential for positive outcomes. Our working practice embeds dignity and respect, valuing young people as individuals, and includes working in partnership with families, local authorities and other professionals. 

We focus on activities to support integration of our young people into the community, to develop their personal identity, promote their voice and choice, and also developing a sense of independence and responsibility. In this we Aspire to exceed expectations.
